MD Logistics provides supply chain management services within two very specific industries: the Life Science and Pharmaceutical Industry, and the Retail and Consumer Goods Industry. While these industries are inherently different, they both require specific quality and compliance standards that as a 3PL provider MD Logistics must adhere to in order to ensure their customers supply chains remain compliant and their products maintain the integrity required by the industry. We adhere to the following quality and compliance standards.
INzone – Greater Indianapolis Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)
Through the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) program companies can designate sites or subzones and use special procedures, under the supervision of CBP, that help encourage commercial activity by delaying, reducing, or eliminating customs duty payments and fees on imports, along with numerous other benefits. You can learn more about the costs and benefits of utilizing an FTZ here.
cGMP refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations enforced by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Adherence to the cGMP regulations assures the safety, identity, strength, quality, and purity of drug products by requiring that manufacturers and distributors of medications adequately control critical processes and storage operations. This includes establishing strong quality management systems, obtaining appropriate quality raw materials, establishing robust operating procedures, as well as detecting and investigating product quality deviations. The flexibility in these regulations allows companies to use modern technologies and innovative approaches to achieve higher quality through continual improvement. Accordingly, the “c” in cGMP stands for “current,” requiring companies to use technologies and systems that are up-to-date in order to comply with the regulations.

Verified-Accredited Wholesale Distributor (VAWD)
Verified-Accredited Wholesale Distributors, or VAWD, is an accreditation for pharmaceutical wholesale distribution facilities. Those wholesale distributors that achieve accreditation are in compliance with state and federal laws and the National Board of Pharmacy’s VAWD criteria and proudly display the VAWD Seal. Wholesale distributors that display the VAWD Seal as part of their accreditation have undergone a criteria compliance review, including a rigorous review of their operating policies and procedures, licensure verification, survey of facility and operations, background checks, and screening through the NABP Clearinghouse. Accredited facilities are reviewed annually and undergo a site survey every three years.
