Indiana Department of Transportation 2015 Investment Exceeded $1 Billion

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced today that the agency’s 2015 construction season resulted in an investment of more than $1 billion in State and Local road, bridge, trail, and traffic safety projects. The mix of federal and state transportation funding along with funds from Governor Mike Pence’s Major Moves 2020 program allowed INDOT to invest aggressively in major projects to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time, and increase preservation work to enhance the condition of existing pavement and bridges. In addition to INDOT’s construction program, the State allocated more than $220 million to cities, towns, and counties across the Hoosier state to support local transportation projects. West Coast Ports and ILWU Reach Tentative Labor Deal

The settlement, confirmed in a joint statement by the two sides, was reached three days after U.S. Labor Secretary Thomas Perez arrived in San Francisco on Tuesday to broker a deal with the help of a federal mediator who had joined in the talks six weeks earlier.
