Valued clients, vendors and friends –

At MD Logistics, we begin each year with a planning summit with our leadership team, spending time reviewing the past year and discussing what is to come in the year ahead. Taking into account our pipeline, we discuss initiatives around organizational growth and how to strategically grow to meet both client and industry demand, focusing in on our core vertical as a cGMP compliant 3PL. This years summit was especially meaningful as 2026 marks our 30th anniversary as a provider of third party logistics services. On the heels of our 30th anniversary, we also rounded out 2025 by celebrating the 5 year anniversary of our acquisition by Nippon Express. Much of our growth over the past five years can be attributed to the support of our strategic vision by Nippon Express. We are immensely thankful for that support and look forward to where we will collectively go next! Over the course of our 30 year history, the team at MD Logistics has made significant strides in providing quality supply chain solutions for clients within the pharmaceutical space. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary and look forward to the future, we are excited to continue this standard of excellence, tailoring new solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry. We thank each and every one of you, valued clients and vendors who have entrusted MD Logistics with your business at any point during the last 30 years. We plan to celebrate this milestone throughout the course of the year, so be sure to follow along as we reminisce and look forward at what is to come.

Out of our planning summit, what became increasingly clear was that the unprecedented demand for compliant, cGMP warehousing space within the life science and pharmaceuticals industry that we experienced in 2025, will continue into 2026. At the beginning of last year, we kicked off the second phase of a project, transforming our largest in-network facility into a state-of-the-art cGMP compliant facility, to include a 40,000 square foot 2-8˚C cooler. Less than six months after completion, this space was at capacity. So again, we find ourselves at the beginning of a new year, finishing yet another cooler expansion, bringing an additional 40,000 square feet of 2-8C cooler space to market.  We continue to try and outpace demand from the industry, but our clients continue to demand more.

Domestic commerce continues to remain strong as onshoring of manufacturing and increasing consumer consumption drives demand. Looking at global demand, all indicators point to a global freight forwarding recession. While recent tariff changes and geopolitical unrest  are partly to blame, it does seem to be beyond that as not just US trade lanes are impacted. As a domestic provider, we do what we can to support our clients’ global supply chains and respond to their strong demand around domestic fulfillment services.

The need for resiliency and contingency planning in the supply chain remains an urgent request from the industry. As concerns around cybersecurity and business continuity remain strong, providers must amend their workflows and processes to ensure their clients supply chains remain impenetrable. Streamlining processes, building in resiliencies and bringing efficiencies through informatics is an important focus for MD Logistics continuing into 2026. For the past year, our IT team has been in the process of investing heavily in our technology solutions with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) upgrade. This state-of-the-art technology will allow our operations team to streamline workflows on the warehouse floor and create increased business continuity and security. We are excited to bring this solution online for our clients by the end of the year. Supply chain resiliency is no longer a ‘nice to have’. It is now an imperative from prospective clients, and our team remains ready to respond.

One constant that remains year after year is how important our team members are to the success of our operation. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary amid an evolving industry, it is still easy to see that people remain our greatest asset and are paramount to our success – from senior leadership to warehouse associates and everyone in between. As AI becomes increasingly more prevalent and the benefits of this technology are further realized, it’s important to remember that while information is important, people still remain and are foundational. I don’t see this changing within the supply chain, certainly not at MD Logistics!

Amid an evolving industry with increasing demands and new technology, we remain optimistic and ready to respond to whatever challenges may arise within our client’s supply chains. It’s been a rewarding 30 years of MD Logistics, having been a part of the organization since the beginning. We are looking forward with anticipation to what is in store for the MD Logistics team in the next 30 years. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!

Wishing you a prosperous 2026!
