Celebrating 30 Years as a pharma 3PL, MD Logistics has spent half that time on inbound logistics top 3PL list

When MD Logistics first opened their doors in 1996, few imagined it would grow to be the highly specialized pharmaceutical 3PL provider it is today. By providing customized solutions for clients within the pharmaceutical space, they realized there was a need in the market for a specialized logistics provider and they were just the team to rise to the occasion. Now, more than 3 decades later, MD Logistics is celebrating a milestone anniversary as a pharmaceutical 3PL provider – half of those years with the recognition of a top third-party logistics provider.

Annually, the editors at Inbound Logistics Magazine compile a list of the top solution providers in the industry based on a defined set of criteria. As the industry continues to evolve and consumers demands change so too has the criteria for what makes a 3PL worthy of being named to the list. Hundreds of companies apply for the distinction of being a part of the list but only 100 are picked. This year, the competition was strong forcing the editors at Inbound Logistics to look past mere size and focus on how these 3PLs showcase their leadership in the industry. “We recognize the innovators who provide real-world value, drive headline-worthy performance, and keep their customers ahead of the curve. In a world of shifting global dynamics and rapid disruptions, the companies that keep goods moving are the ones making headlines.” Says the editors at Inbound Logistics. “That’s why pharmaceutical 3PL provider MD Logistics was selected as an Inbound Logistics Top 100 Third-Party Logistics Provider for 2026.”

“Having spent the last 15 years on the Top 3PL’s list from Inbound Logistics is a feat we are immensely proud of! MD Logistics was built on hard work, determination and with a ‘can do’ attitude that still is very much a part of our culture today.” states President & CEO, John Sell. “MD Logistics got our start as freight forwarders, fielding inquiries for customized solutions from our clients. Through the needs of our clients, we made the natural transition from freight forwarders to a highly specialized pharmaceutical 3PL provider within the industry. Over the years, as temperature sensitive biologics have gotten colder, serialization has become mandatory and the industry placed a greater need on sustainable practices, attention to quality and licensing requirements, this structure has allowed our team to remain nimble and quick to respond to needs of our clients. Upon joining the Nippon Express network in 2020, we were able to build additional global solutions to service our clients end-to-end supply chain. As an independent subsidiary of Nippon Express, their support as we continue to grow within the pharmaceutical industry is instrumental to our continued success. We look forward to continuing to bring forth customized supply chain solutions for years to come.”
